One of Panama City's tonier restaurants, Eurasia is not the belle of the restaurant scene that it was several years ago. But the top-notch cuisine and sharp service endure. As the name implies, Eurasia's dishes are European with dashes of Asian flavors, stylishly presented. Daring and delicious, the food truly reflects the immigrant melting pot that is Panama City. The ambience is elegant, with papaya-colored walls, lavish art, heavy Spanish ironwork, and checkered marble floors, and there is a slightly more casual dining area near the bar. Waiters in starched white shirts and shiny cummerbunds provide some of the best service in all of Panama. The menu is lopsided in terms of pricing; some dishes are better -- and cheaper -- than others. At press time Eurasia was retooling its menu, but expect to find dishes such as jumbo shrimp in tropical tamarind sauce with coconut milk, or filet mignon in a gingery sauce.
