This sexy, sophisticated jazz club/upscale restaurant is the perfect spot for an all-in-one night out. The jazz club, Platea, is on the first floor, the restaurant on the second. The bar in Platea is a good place to start or end a meal, and they serve appetizers for less-hungry patrons. Upstairs, S'cena is casual elegance, with a New York vibe, with white table linens and exposed brick walls. The cuisine is very good and Mediterranean-influenced, crafted by a talented young chef on loan from Spain. The meal begins with a complimentary amuse-bouche, a tiny appetizer to pique the taste buds. Order a bottle of wine from the well-chosen, and reasonably priced, wine list, and follow it with shellfish sautéed in Pernod or octopus caramelized in white wine. Main courses include fish and meat dishes, and a few pasta highlights such as "Grandmother's Catalan Cannellonis."
