Ever dined in a 17th-century Spanish dungeon? Here's your chance. Built in the historic fortress inside a defensive seawall, Las Bóvedas (The Vaults) was later used as torture chamber whose victims were chained and left to watch the waters rise around them at high tide. Today it's been converted into a stylish eatery, with highly arched stone ceilings and low candlelight. The food is better at the restaurants mentioned above, but the ambience here makes up for this. Expect French-influenced salads, shellfish appetizers, grilled seafood, and meats. A bar makes a good spot for a cocktail and light meal, and features live jazz on Fridays and Saturdays from 9pm to 1am.
