To find the freshest seafood in Panama City, you have to visit the Mercado del Marisco (Fish Market) and its unassuming little eatery on the second floor. This market restaurant serves quite possibly the best ceviche in town, perhaps because the owner is Peruvian and lends his special flavor to such an emblematic Latin American dish. The portions are hearty, the price reasonable and, best of all, you can see below in the market what your catch looked like before it got to your plate. Come before 1pm or after 2pm because this place gets packed during the lunch hour. Tip: If the restaurant is full or you are on the run, buy a $1 ceviche from Sheila at her booth; when you walk in the main door, she's just straight ahead. (You can identify her by her gold tooth.)
