Parrillada Jimmy

There are two Jimmys, each quite different from the other. This is their flagship restaurant and parrillada (barbecue) close to the Caesar Park Panama hotel. Many locals will tell you that this is the place for barbecued meats-and, more notably, for their fire-grilled octopus -- but the food doesn't live up to its reputation, and it's a little pricey for what you get. The restaurant is hacienda-style with lots of wrought iron and ceramic tile, and there is a pleasant and spacious open-air dining area and indoor air-conditioned eating area. Bustling waiters in bow ties serve mostly grilled tenderloin, New York and T-bone steaks, as well as seafood; the meal comes with an iceberg-lettuce salad and baked potato. Pastas are available. If you're staying at the Caesar Park, you might consider dining here, but if you're downtown I don't recommend going out of your way to dine here.
