Four Points by Sheraton

The Four Points can be found in the heart of the Financial District, next to the World Trade Center, in a more antiseptic area of the city. The hotel is a bit nicer than the usual chain franchise, with spacious rooms, especially the suites, that come with two rooms, two bathrooms, and two televisions, making this a good bet for families. The decor consists of floral-chintz bedspreads, gauzy drapes, and purpose-built furniture -- not very "wow," but nevertheless very comfortable. There is a range of amenities, too, including a nicely designed outdoor pool and icy-cold air-conditioning. I don't recommend the Sheraton's restaurant or bar, which are not particularly pleasant spots to hang out. Also, one drawback for business travelers is that Internet service is pricey. Check their website for deals.
