Frommer's Review
Trendy 30-somethings will find their home at the deliciously fresh and fun Decapolis Radisson, a newer hotel and a benchmark in style and modernity in Panama City. Think glass and steel, a sleek martini-and-sushi bar, stark decoration, and hallways filled with a rainbow of ambient light. This is not a five-star hotel, but it provides excellent value with its fashionable decor and wide range of amenities, including one of the city's best spas; full business services such as cellphone rental; chic restaurants; and a casino and shopping mall connected by a walkway. Bright, spacious guest rooms (with walk-in closets and big bathrooms) are mostly white with wood-grain paneling and touches of whimsical lime, orange, and leopard print. Their large, blown-up photos portray Panama's various ethnic groups; some of these photos, of semi-nude Emberá Indian women, have bothered certain buttoned-up types -- but this is not a hotel that appeals to that sort of traveler, anyway. On weekends, there is a throbbing party atmosphere in the lobby-level lounge and fourth-floor pool, which draws the young glitterati of Panama City. If you're looking for quiet (and a view), book anything from the 10th floor up, or consider a different hotel. Check the website for deals.
