Frommer's Review
This restaurant is a gastronomic wonder. It has a panoramic glass ceiling, a gray-and-green translucent dome designed by Gustav Eiffel, the architect who conceived the famous tower. Chef Eric Brifford keeps the crowds lined up. Menu items focus on Provençal models and change every 2 months, based on whatever is fresh. Begin your meal with a truffle-studded tart or perhaps a salad of scallops served with caviar and mango-flavored vinaigrette. Move on to a casserole of wild boar (cochon noir) from the Pyrenees with wild mushrooms or perhaps a whole red snapper, simply grilled and succulent, and served with butter or hollandaise sauce, according to your wishes. Dessert might be a soft lemon-flavored pastry, prepared like a soufflé and served with mascarpone sauce. Candles illuminate the place; during dinner, live piano music reverberates off the dome.
