Lying off the tree-lined boulevard Raspail, this Montparnasse choice is close to the "Lost Generation" cafes made famous in the pages of Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. The famous English decorator, David Hicks, had a hand in the stylish decor. If you stay here, you're just 3 minutes from the Luxembourg Gardens. You enter a small reception area opening into a Georgian parlor with plush sofas, armchairs, columns, and even a marble fireplace for those nippy Paris nights. Bedrooms are often furnished in part with antiques, but have all the modern comforts. Some come with small sitting rooms; all have marble bathrooms equipped with everything from deluxe toiletries to make-up mirrors. The cheaper rooms are small. If you can afford it, ask for one of the deluxe units that also have love seats and safes.
