Frommer's Review
This renovated, government-rated four-star hotel enjoys one of the most fashionable locations in Paris, lying between place Vendôme and the Tuileries. Although its facade dates from 1830, it has been practically rebuilt inside and turned into an oasis of charm. The fashionistas and the glitterati check into the tony Hôtel Costes nearby, while the Royal Saint-Honoré attracts a more conservative (read, less rich) clientele. At the doorstep are famous shops such as Chanel, Hermès, Lanvin, Guerlin, and Cartier. After its latest overhaul, the hotel is imbued with luxurious contemporary styling with impressive redwood English furnishings, Louis XVI-styled paneling in the breakfast room, and an on-site cafe that is also a chic bar. Bedrooms are midsize to spacious, with Louis XVI-style or Directoire wood pieces, botanical prints on the walls, and color-coordinated upholsteries and fabrics. The tubs are a bit narrow, but the appointments are first-rate.
