Originally built in the late 19th century, this eight-story building is a well-maintained, well-managed hotel with comfortable, well-accessorized bedrooms and a location that's near the best viewing platform for the Eiffel Tower (place de Trocadéro) in Paris. The hotel is one of subdued elegance and refined comfort, filled with grace notes such as a lobby that evokes a library, a bar wainscoted in mahogany for teatime, and a tree-filled courtyard. The rather spacious bedrooms are each outfitted with a slightly different floor plan and color scheme, usually a coordinated palette of pale pastels. Each of the bathrooms has marble or tile trim and a tub/shower combination. The staff is kindly, albeit overworked and a bit harassed.
