The name, "The Baths," comes from this hot spot's former function as a Turkish bath that attracted gay clients, none more notable than Marcel Proust. It may be hard to get in if the doorman doesn't think you're trendy and très chic. Yes, that was Jennifer Lopez we saw whirling around the floor. Dancing begins at midnight, and a supper club-like restaurant is upstairs. Meals cost 40€ to 50€ ($52-$65). On certain nights this is the hottest party atmosphere in Paris, and Mondays are increasingly gay, although sexual preference is hardly an issue at this club. "We all walk the waterfront," one DJ enigmatically told us. Open Tuesday to Saturday 11pm to 6am.
