This is our favorite bar in the 4th Arrondissement and a great place for people-watching, lying inside a courtyard off rue Vieille-du-Temple. The interior is lined with stone, and the ceiling fans and palm leaves evoke old Algiers (once a French colony). The action is on three levels, and hip music is played in the background. Happy hour daily from 5 to 8pm is very popular with Left Bank young people. The bartenders are among the hippest in town. Open Monday to Saturday 6pm to 2am (closed 2 weeks in August).
