Frommer's Review
At this elegant, award-winning restaurant, everything is made from scratch, using the freshest herbs and vegetables available -- preparing the tomato sauce alone requires cases of roma tomatoes each day. In a century-old building at the top of Main Street, Grappa's feels like a Tuscan farmhouse. The restaurant has three floors, with a small patio on the ground floor and a larger second-floor deck with a delightful view of historic Main Street and the surrounding mountains. Baskets of fresh fruits and vegetables decorate the dining area.
The menu changes frequently, but popular dishes often include spaghetti with Italian sausage and red and yellow peppers; lemon-baked spring chicken served with green olives, cherry tomatoes, baby potatoes, and a zucchini tartlet; and pan-seared king salmon with fennel, spinach, tomatoes, and a creamy portobello risotto. The meats, such as the filet mignon with wild mushrooms, are seasoned in the style of southern French and Italian cooking, then grilled or rotisseried over a wood-burning flame. There's an excellent wine list, as well as full liquor service.
