Washington Schoolhouse Hotel ReviewHoused in an 1889 sandstone schoolhouse nestled against the Wasatch Mountains, this lovely country inn has managed to preserve its original charm even though it's now completely modernized. The exterior has been faithfully restored to its late-19th-century appearance, and the interior has been reorganized to better meet the requirements of an inn while remaining true to its historical roots. Rooms are individually decorated with antiques and reproductions from different periods. All units have air-conditioning. Two suites have wood-burning fireplaces. Facilities include a whirlpool tub and lounge area, sauna, bicycle storage area, ski lockers, and a lovely summer garden and patio area. The inn provides a full breakfast buffet each morning, afternoon tea in summer, and hearty après-ski refreshments in winter. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
