Frommer's Review
Built in 1908, the Naramata Inn served as a hotel, private residence, and girls' school before undergoing extensive and loving renovation as a classic wine country inn. If you're coming to the Okanagan for a romantic getaway, or simply have an aversion to the mom-and-pop motels and corporate hotels that dominate wine-country lodging, then look no further. This inn, which is a half-hour northwest of Penticton on the quiet side of Lake Okanagan, overlooks vineyards and the lake itself. It offers very charming rooms (note that some are authentically small), restored to glow with period finery, but modern luxury -- the linens are top-notch and the bathroom's heated tile floors are a nice touch on a cool morning. In addition to en suite bathrooms with showers, rooms also have a claw-foot tub in the bedroom for soaking and relaxing. The inn also offers a spa for upscale pampering, plus the best dining in the area. There are few places in the otherwise utilitarian Okanagan as nice as this.
Facilities:
Restaurant; wine bar; spa; limited room service; wireless Internet access.
