Frommer's Review
On a side street just a few yards off Piazza IV Novembre, this low-key restaurant is set in a medieval mélange of vaulted ceilings and stone walls. The wall art is of questionable merit, but the food is good. Both the ravioli (covered in spinachy cream sauce) and the gnocchi al pomodoro (potato dumplings in tomato sauce) are made from scratch, and the grigliata mista (mixed grilled meats) and torello alla Perugina (veal smothered in chicken liver pâté) are good secondi. Il Cantinone is known as one of the cheaper choices in town, and their pizza menu has been increasing over the years.
