Frommer's Review
This operation may be commercial to the core, but it's one of the most felicitous concentrations of capitalism around. It's on the outskirts of town, inhabiting an ugly 1960s brick architectural mistake, but the rooms on the back face a small tree-shaded valley, the only oasis of green on Perugia's developed slopes. The rooms are comfortable, large, and well furnished. A contemporary artist and a wine label are paired in each room: The glass-topped desks contain tiny enoteche, the art hangs on the wall, and you're welcome to buy either. The restaurant serves Umbrian recipes tweaked to fine cuisine levels and accompanied by bottomless wine tasting. The attached enoteca/gastronomia stocks almost 800 labels of wine and regional products, from Italy and around the world.
