Frommer's Review
Col. Benjamin Prescott fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill before retiring to Jaffrey in 1775. This three-story home built by his sons dates to 1853, a handsome yellow Greek Revival farmhouse along an (often busy) road about 2 miles east of Jaffrey's town center. Throughout this pleasant inn, you'll find a strong sense of history and a connection to the past. All guest rooms have ceiling fans and phone jacks (phones provided on request), and two of the suites have air-conditioning. Best rooms in the house? Maybe cranberry-hued Col. Prescott's Room, bright and airy and furnished with two comfortable armchairs and a writing desk. Susannah's Suite has a brass bed and a sitting room. Guests can wander the farmlands beyond the inn or set off to hike Mount Monadnock, just a short drive down the road.
