This luxurious boutique hotel, once a guest ranch, is one of the few hotels in the Valley to offer any Old Arizona atmosphere, and because the Hermosa Inn is all about getting a little peace and quiet, I breathe a big sigh of relief every time I arrive here. Built in the 1930s by cowboy artist Lon Megargee, the inn is situated on more than 6 acres of attractive gardens in an upscale residential neighborhood. The inn provides luxury, yet is completely removed from Scottsdale's hectic pace. The only other nearby place this tranquil is the Royal Palms , which is more service oriented. Rooms vary from cozy to spacious and are decorated in contemporary Western decor. The largest suites have much more Southwestern flavor than suites at other area resorts. The dining room, located in the original adobe home, serves excellent food in a rustic, upscale setting.
