Clean, comfortable, basic rooms right in a central location are the main draw at this modest budget hotel next to Ah Cacao. Since Ko’ox took over management in 2013, maintenance has improved and flat-screen TVs have been added. The amiable staff is eager to please. Rooms are small but very clean, and superior rooms have balconies, though Wi-Fi can be temperamental. The sparkling pool has good views. Opt for the pool side if you’re an early-to-bed type; rooms overlooking Quinta get noise from nearby bars until about 1 a.m. This is a terrific bargain for the location during low and mid seasons, but the high-season rate spike puts it in the same range with other hotels offering more amenities.
