With an enviable setting right on Playa Guiones, this is by far the best hotel option in Nosara. Well-heeled surfers and yogis flock here, and it’s often hard to get a room, though it’s not over the top luxurious by any means. The entry-level “Coco” rooms are quite spacious, with high peaked wood-paneled ceilings; queen-size beds; and a private, enclosed garden deck area featuring an outdoor shower with massive rainwater-style shower head. The bungalows and villas are even larger, with king-size beds, and there are two-bedroom suites for families or small groups of friends. A short path through thick foliage leads to the waves, and the hotel has a shower and fresh towels waiting for guests where the property lets out onto the beach. There’s an excellent on-site spa and yoga facility, which includes meditation and regular workshops. The restaurant serves top-notch locally sourced cuisine and sushi, and there’s a juice and coffee bar too. This hotel was awarded the maximum “5 Leaves” by the CST Certification for Sustainable Tourism program, thanks to a comprehensive commitment to environmental protection.
