Aside from the restaurants listed here, I would point you in the direction of a few that don't need a full review. For a delicious Veracruz-style breakfast in pleasant, breezy surroundings, try the upstairs terrace restaurant of the Hotel Básico, at Quinta Avenida and Calle 10 Norte. For fish tacos and inexpensive seafood, try El Oasis, on Calle 12, between avenidas 5 and 10 (no phone). For arrachera (fajita) tacos, the place to go is Super Carnes H C de Monterrey (tel. 984/803-0488) on Calle 1 Sur between avenidas 20 and 25.
