This resort has been around the longest, owns a large parcel of land inland that it protects from development, and has a gorgeous beach and beautifully manicured grounds. Two- and three-story buildings contain the large guest rooms; most have king-size beds. The grounds are lovely, and the beach is fine white sand. The hotel has also spent a lot of effort and money on upgrades to the rooms. Nine new suites are outrageous examples of extravagance. There is a new beach bar that makes for an enjoyable place to pass the evening hours; it's a little more glitzy than the old one but still comfy. As at Tides Riviera Maya , but to a lesser degree, the smaller size makes for more personal service and a deeper sense of escape.
