As a popular surfer destination, Tamarindo has a sometimes raging nightlife. The most happening bars in town are Babylon and La Barra. Other popular spots that go on throughout the week include the Monkey Bar at the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas, and the bar at the Hotel Pasatiempo. Both of these places have televisions for sporting events and sometimes feature live music. For a chill-out dance scene try the new Voodoo Lounge, and for late-night action, head to the local hangout Rey Sol.
For those looking for some gaming, there are two casinos in town: the Jazz Casino, across from the El Diriá hotel, and the casino at the Barceló Playa Langosta resort.
