This place was originally conceived as a condo project and then was converted into a hotel and taken over by a local surfer and business man and now is marketed as part of the Best Western chain. There's a wide range of accommodations here, from the simple garden-view rooms to the Tropical and Corona suites. The former are basic budget motel-like affairs. The latter are split-level one-bedroom affairs with full kitchens, large living rooms (with two couches that can double as single beds), and either a private patio or a balcony with fabulous views of the Pacific Ocean. This hotel really caters to surfers, and there is often a lively, beach-party at spring break-like atmosphere around the pool and at the bar here.
