An excellent choice if you want to avoid busy downtown area, the well-maintained, regularly updated property also has indoor and outdoor pools. The good-size guest rooms are tastefully furnished and well maintained; most have two double or queen beds. The helpful staff and amenities make the Pilgrim Sands popular with business travelers as well as vacationers. In the afternoon, the breakfast room becomes the lounge, a local hangout with indoor and outdoor seating. If you can swing it, book a beachfront room -- the view is worth the money, especially when the surf is rough.
