This oldest pub in Plzen, dating from 1637, has been renovated to reincarnate a previous Jugendstil rendition of the building. The beer is fresh, but the food is a little disappointing in its standard appearance and taste -- you would expect a little flair, given the edifice. However, if you want to stay near the main square and don't want to make the long walk back across the river and up the hill to the brewery pubs, this pub will fulfill your needs admirably.
