If you think you don’t want to stay in a Mercure, you haven’t been to this one. In one of the city’s most attractive old buildings, a former Jesuit chapel, with the brilliant Les Archives restaurant directly underneath, this is both inexpensive and well located. Inside you get Gothic windows, vaulted ceilings, pure character everywhere you look, with almost nothing to say you are in a chain hotel. A public car park is just next door for 5€ a day.
