Frommer's Review
An interesting thing to do before or after visiting the archaeological area is to check out a reconstruction of the ancient town to see how it must have looked before the eruption. The 3-D films are quite well made and seemingly bring the place back to life. In addition, demonstrations of ancient Roman craft making are given by live artists.
