This is the most upscale place to eat in the area, offering gourmet food and great service. In addition to the wine list you'll be offered a water list, a beer list, a cheese list, and a honey and dried-fruit list, as well as the usual dessert menu. The food is seasonal and focuses on seafood, with such appetizers as smoked swordfish or tuna and, delicious pasta dishes such as the scialatielli allo scorfano (homemade flat pasta with scorpion-fish). The secondi, which come with a vegetable side dish -- unusual for Italy, but most welcome -- include a large choice of fish masterfully prepared au gratin, baked in a salt crust, or simply baked. We also recommend the tasting menus (call or check the website for a schedule of events), that explore the regional cuisine, from the modern to the ancient Roman (35€-55€ with wine pairings). Desserts are excellent and strictly homemade.
