Buses leave every half-hour from the Mercadito Subtiava, 12 blocks west of the city center; jump on any of the urban buses that ring the city, and they will eventually pass by the market. Incredibly, the big, old school buses to the beach are sometimes faster than taxis, as the latter drive incredibly slowly in order to avoid the Swiss-cheese-like road's potholes. The last bus returns to the city at 6:40pm and costs C20.
