Most people head to Nelson Bay for their meals because of the great views. You'll find a host of cheap takeout joints and a few pleasant sit-down eateries. Bubs Famous Fish and Chips (located to the far left of the marina walkway) is an award-winning Nelson Bay institution. Eat in or take away. The extensive menu includes a wonderful selection of seafood and the views are great. Meals cost from around A$9 (cash only). I also recommend the popular but simple fish and chip takeaway on the main shopping street.
