Planning a TripArriving By Train -- From Lagos, trains on the Algarve Line run frequently throughout the day to Portimão. The trip takes 15 minutes and costs 1.30€ ($1.70). For information and schedules, phone tel. 808/208-208. By Bus -- An express bus from Lisbon makes the 3 1/2-hour trip and costs 18€ ($23). A bus runs from the beach at Portimao, 3km (1 3/4 miles) away. For information and schedules, call tel. 28/241-81-20. By Car -- The main highway across the southern coast, Route 125, makes a wide arch north on its eastern run to Portimão. Visitor Information At Praia da Rocha, the tourist office (tel. 28/241-91-32; www.visitalgarve.pt) is on Avenida Tomás Cabreira and is open daily 9:30am to 1pm and 2 to 5:30pm (closes in summer at 7pm).
