The state's top tourist attraction, the Oregon Zoo is best known for its elephants, with the most successful breeding herd in captivity. They reside in the Africa exhibit, which includes a manmade rainforest and a savanna populated by zebras, rhinos, giraffes, and hippos. The Alaskan Tundra has grizzly bears, wolves, and musk oxen, while the Cascade Crest exhibit includes a mountain goat habitat. In Steller Cove, Steller sea lions and sea otters are on display. Other exhibits include an intriguing bat house and the Amazon Flooded Forest. And don’t miss the naked mole rats, scurrying around in their glass-walled tunnels. In the summer, there are outdoor concerts in the zoo’s amphitheater. This is a large zoo and can easily take up 2 or more hours of your time.
