This small, tasteful B&B is on a downtown street in a historic brick home dating from 1835. It's well located for exploring the city on foot: The Portland Museum of Art is just 2 blocks away, the Old Port is 10 minutes by foot, and great restaurants are within easy walking distance. Guests can linger or watch TV in the front parlor or chat at the table in the kitchen. Every room is a corner room; most are bright and sunny. Especially nice is "Spring," with its great morning light and wonderful views of the historic row houses on Park Street, and "Gables," on the third floor, which gets abundant afternoon light and has a nice bathroom. The friendly new owners promise to gradually upgrade the inn.
