Frommer's Review
No teddy bears, no frilly curtains, no potpourri -- that's the mantra at this gorgeous little hideaway on a quiet residential street in northeast Portland. Innkeeper Terry Rusinow, who once owned a craft gallery in the California wine country, has an impeccable eye for interior decor, so public spaces and guest rooms here are beautifully decorated. This little homestay-style inn has only two rooms, and, at press time, was adding a small sleeping cottage with a kitchenette. When you stay in the main house, you almost feel as though you've rented the entire place. Note that this is a no-smoking and perfume-free house, and there is a resident cat. The neighborhood has loads of great restaurants within walking distance.
Facilities:
Concierge; bike rentals; art-studio tours

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
