Portugal Travel Guide

For centuries the gateway to both Africa and the Americas, Portugal is something of a gem tucked away on the edge of Europe.

Beyond the Atlantic breakers of the golden Algarve coast there is a wealth of history, culture and leisure to be explored – from the levada trails in Madeira to Lisbon's bustle and nightlife and UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Sintra and Belém.

Portugal also has to be one of the best places for seafood in the world and also produces a good range of palatable wines to accompany your meal, including vinho verde (green wine) from the Minho region and, of course, port from Porto.
