Frommer's Review
This is one of southern Italy's greatest resort hotels. It's been long celebrated as a retreat of the rich and famous. Despite stiff competition from San Pietro, Le Sirenuse remains a gem, with stunning views. It's better than ever, after the addition of a high-tech health club and spa. This old villa a few minutes' walk up from the bay is owned by the Marchesi Sersale family; it was their home until 1951. The family selects all the furnishings, which include fine carved chests, 19th-century paintings and old prints, a spinet piano, upholstered pieces in bold colors, and a Victorian cabinet. The guest rooms, many with Jacuzzis in the luxurious bathrooms, are varied, and all have terraces overlooking the village. Your room might have an iron bed, high and ornate and painted red, as well as a carved chest and refectory tables.
