Hilton Prague Old Town ReviewFormerly known as the Renaissance Prague and now newly refurbished and run by Hilton, this is a top-level business hotel. Like the Marriott, it's around the corner from the central bank and caters to conference-goers. Each room is strategically lit, with warm woods and contemporary earth tones, but without any of the accents found at the Old Town's Art Nouveau hotels. The rooms include comfortable modern beds, flat-panel TVs, and clean, fully tiled bathrooms. The hotel enjoyed a brief vogue in 2008 and early 2009 as the site of Gordon Ramsay's fabled Maze restaurant -- a Michelin-star winner that closed abruptly after Ramsay's global empire crashed and burned. The restaurant that replaced it, Zinc, is still pretty good, however. Facilities: Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
