The pickings here are fairly slim, though the admission price is worth it if only for the worn originals of Donatello's beautifully detailed friezes of dancing putti from the Duomo's outdoor Pulpit of the Sacred Girdle. First, however, you pass through a room with early-14th-century works, including Bettino di Corsino's Madonna del Parto -- the pregnant Mary is an extremely rare subject in early Italian art. Through the cloister, there is a room containing Fra' Diamante's Annunciation, a St. Lucy sprouting a huge sword from her neck by Filippino Lippi, a possible Paolo Uccello in the detached fresco of Jacopone da Todi, and a 15th-century reliquary case for the Holy Girdle worked by Maso di Bartolomeo. (Apparently dancing putti were de rigueur for girdle-associated artworks.)
