Among the most spectacular of the Matapalo ecolodges, Bosque del Cabo is perched some 152m (500 ft.) above the water on more than 303 hectares (750 acres), with neatly manicured grounds, multiple nature trails, a cool hanging bridge, and access to both the Pacific Ocean and the Golfo Dulce. Rare wildlife like pumas and ocelots can occasionally be seen right on the property. Thirteen elegant bungalows and three fully equipped houses have great ocean views, and others are surrounded by tropical gardens. All are classily done up in hardwoods, cane, and tile, and some of the bungalows have thatched roofs. There are two nice pools (one is an adult quiet pool) and many miles of wildlife trails, but also a thrillingly high zipline and tree platform set in a Manu tree, a tree-climbing tour inside a hollowed-out tree, waterfall-rappelling courses, massage and reflexology treatments, and more.
