Right off a pristine, white sand beach, and boasting a lovely swimming pool, the Fiesta Americana is a top pick for those vacationers who plan to pack a bathing suit...and little else. Non-stop daytime activities at the pool keep those who like to be entertained quite happy, though it's massive enough that guests can swim and tan around the pool without feeling like they're in the midst of any hustle and bustle. The Fiesta Americana's full-service spa is topnotch (treatments in guest rooms or on the beach are an option), as is its well-run kids club. The high-rise hotel itself is a handsome one, with a majestic, three-story palapa for its lobby, lushly landscaped grounds and contemporary (if not very Mexican-looking) rooms.
We do have two, small warnings about staying here. Firstly, if you really want to explore the town of Puerto Vallarta, there are better options. While there is a bus stop outside, and affordable taxis, it's still a good 15–20 minute ride from the resort into the town center. And we do wish that someone would tell the timeshare salespeople to back off. They can be very aggressive, and unfortunately, the pitch starts as you're checking in. If you give a firm "no" and don't accept any freebies (in return for sitting through a session), you'll likely enjoy your vacation more.
