El Cortecito Inn

It's definitely not on the A-list of mega-resorts, but it exerts a strong appeal to independent and frugal travelers who like to keep life (and their vacation hotels) simple. With a goodly percentage of clients from Spain and the D.R., and the remainder from Northern Europe, it's one of the most visible buildings in the hamlet of Cortecito, positioned just across the town's sleepy main street from a bustling stretch of very white beachfront dotted with bohío-style bars and restaurants. This three-level structure offers simply, yet comfortably, furnished bedrooms. The decor, if it could be called that, is very Caribbean and rather minimalist, although the premises are well-maintained. For a lot of your amenities, action, and facilities, you'll have to look outside your hotel, but considering that an entire universe of village life lies just outside the hotel, you probably won't have to go far. The food is home-style and presented in generous portions, much of it like that served in the home of a typical island family.
