Frommer's Review
Looking more like a club than a restaurant, this is a destination to remember when with a group in a partying mood. A communal table sits beneath a teak oval ceiling illuminated by pin lights and a basketball-size disco ball, just the arena for friendly extroverts. Seatings have a '60s Swedish mien, and the windows along the front open in good weather. The translucent panels behind the back bar pulse with a rainbow of colors, highlighting the pride of the barkeeps, their inventive roster of cocktails -- over a dozen martinis, yes, but also some eye-popping specials. One begins with muddled grapes and fresh ginger before 2 ounces of icy vodka are poured over. Dinners might feature mussels four ways, soufflé of black crab, leg of lamb with maple syrup, or, for the less hungry or demanding, a "Diablo dog" or tartare burger. The after-dinner action floats between here and the Boudoir Lounge across the street, the hottest nightspot in St-Roch.
