Occupying several row houses at the top of the Jardin des Gouverneurs, this mini-hotel has a helpful staff as well as some of the creature comforts that smaller inns in the neighborhood lack. Although the rooms are small and often suffer from unfortunate decorating choices, they are quiet for the most part, have private bathrooms, and offer one or two double beds, or a queen-size. A few higher-priced units overlook the park. The hotel's private parking is directly behind the building, a notable convenience in this congested part of town, although there are only a few spaces. Free coffee and a wine machine (think soda machine, but classier) are available in the lobby. If you're searching for a room on the spot and this place is full, there are some dozen other small lodgings within a block in any direction. A sister hotel, the Château Laurier, is located outside the walls on Parliament Hill.
