Frommer's Review
Le Capitole is as gleefully eccentric as the business hotels it competes with are conventional. Rooms are all curves and obtuse angles, borrowing from Art Deco, and feature stars on the carpets and painted clouds on the ceiling. Beds have down duvets, and some rooms feature bathtubs in the corner. Mostly this all works to its advantage, although some of the angles and funky furniture are tests to practicality. The hotel's owner runs the adjacent music and theater venue (also called Le Capitole) and Ristorante Il Teatro, which often becomes an after-hours hangout for visiting musicians. The hotel's entrance, near the heart of Place d'Youville, is squeezed almost to anonymity between the theater and restaurant -- just head for the theater marquee. Note that unlike many business hotels nearby, prices are higher on the weekends than midweek during the off season because of the proximity to the theater.
