Housed in a 19th-century row house that fronts on a pedestrian block of rue Ste-Anne, in the very center of the historic district of the Upper Town, this is a European-style design hotel, economy division. Exposed stone and brick walls are common, and each room has a tall, narrow, free-standing cabinet containing a TV near the top, an unstocked fridge, a coffeemaker, and a wardrobe. The effect is quite spare, but unusual light fixtures add drama. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms feature satisfyingly drenching showers (most rooms have just showers; ask if you want one of the few with a bathtub). Breakfast and room service are provided from the adjacent restaurant Le Grill, and parking is at City Hall down the block, for C$12 (US$10/£5.15) with in-and-out privileges.
