Frommer's Review
Within a few blocks of the epicenter of the emerging "Le Nouvo St-Roch" neighborhood at rue du Parvis are restaurants worth going out of your way for -- including the four listed in chapter 14. Plunked at the edge of this orbit of technology companies, skateboard punks, and well-heeled hipsters is the van Gogh?inspired Le Vincent, which opened its 10 rooms in August 2006. Housed in a renovated 100-year-old building, the sophisticated rooms are a good value for all the luxe features: goose-down duvets, 400-thread-count sheets, plush towels, custom-made dark cherrywood furniture, artwork by locals, generous lighting options, and Kohler bath fixtures. Breakfasts are made to order in a brick-walled seating area off the lobby, whose floor is painted in Vincent-style sunbursts and roiling blue curves. Bike storage and repair are available. Rooms are up either one or two flights of stairs. The hotel is a short walk from rue St-Jean, with its boutiques and restaurants, and Place D'Youville.
