In addition to remodeling this unique stay into something between a small boutique hotel and a B&B, owner Louise Kiely gave it a big revamp in 2009. The property has seven delightful rooms in the main house and seven new villa suites in an adjacent building. Each has its own special charm -- I especially love the Hunting Room -- but for the best views, go for the larger Baron Room. Apartment suites in the new block are much bigger and have their own decks, large sitting rooms, and a modern kitchen. Louise has personality-plus and encourages guests to meet for predinner drinks in the cozy living room. A delicious breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the lake and township, which is only a short walk downhill.
